There are various rubber bushes/ball joints etc. in virtually all suspensions systems, and over time these components wear and the rubber hardens and cracks – all affecting handling, stability and ride quality.
During a recent trip to the Alps the heating system in the van failed overnight when it was -15degC outside – we woke to find it was 1degC in the van, cold air being blown from the heating vents and the fresh water had frozen!
If you are heading off on a winter trip many European countries require you to carry snow chains and fit them when weather conditions and roadside signage dictate – heavy penalties can be incurred for not carrying chains or not using them when required!
No-one likes pulling on cold wet boots first thing in the morning when you’re rushing to hit the first lift, find the fresh power before everyone else carves it up, or grab a Croissant aux Amandes while they’re still warm…..
